General Summary

This position will source, purchase, plan, and schedule the movement of raw materials, parts, components, services, supplies, finished goods and related material through production and inventory process. Identifies raw material, components related requirements from engineering and production specifications and schedules. Coordinates and follows up with production, warehouse, and engineering personnel to ensure appropriate procurement, scheduling, and movement of materials and services. Expedites, routes, and dispatches material and parts in accordance with production schedules and commitments. Reviews master production schedule to determine possible and actual shortages and alerts proper authorities of potential problems. Generates progress reports on schedule status and keeps records of completed orders. Takes appropriate action to expedite materials such as order damaged material repaired or in-house transportation. Reports on completion dates, material changes or substitutions, shortages, and schedule modifications.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Assist in resolving Mfg. Discrepancy Reports and follow them through the system to completion
  • Request and issue production Shop Orders to the floor
  • Confers with buyers to determine overdue materials and parts and to inform manager about the status of the product
  • Responsible for managing the timing of delivery.
  • Issue Manufacturing Orders through MRP system
  • Provide weekly project status reports on all assigned projects
  • Assist in the scheduling of production parts to meet customer requirements and manufacturing objectives
  • Maintain and update Project Status report weekly with part locations including discrepant parts
  • Manage RFQs’ and supplier selection for assigned products
  • Negotiate pricing for assigned products
  • Analyze MRP requirements and place, reschedule and/or cancel purchase orders according to MRP exception messages
  • Work with engineering and/or quality to resolve quality issues
  • Perform contact administration for assigned product/suppliers
  • Execute standard NDAs’
  • Track and collaborate with suppliers to improve performance metrics
  • Work with Accounting and suppliers to resolve payment issues
  • Account for and manage Eclipse assets located at supplier facilities

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Required: 

  • 3 – 5 years of supply chain experience
  • Demonstrated aptitude to learn and incorporate basic supply chain systems and processes
  • Ability to work across multiple departments to resolve supplier quality issues
  • Ability to asset, interject and intercede to influence necessary work changes to reach Company objectives
  • Relevant job experience in manufacturing environment
  • Strong customer service skills required
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter and comfortable working with minimal supervision
  • Basic understanding of fiduciary responsibility

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related filed
  • Proficient with Excel
  • SAP Experience
