GENERAL SUMMARY

Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, structural, electromechanical or optical areas. • Assuring that shop equipment and tools used are in a serviceable working condition, and that required checks and calibrations have been accomplished on special tools and test equipment prior to use.
• Ascertaining that necessary maintenance entries on maintenance forms and work orders for the assigned work function have been properly executed.
• Maintaining the premises of the repair station in a clean and orderly manner.
• Maintaining high quality work in accordance with the Federal Aviation Regulations.
• Observing the safety precautions relevant to any operation in the maintenance department.
• Always using required technical data (in accordance with the latest revisions) on all aircraft, engines, and appliances, for the maintenance accomplished. The data will include manufactures’ maintenance and overhaul manuals, service bulletins, parts specifications, related Federal Aviation Administration approved data, and any other technical data available through the repair station.
• Assuring the proper handling of all parts while in the repair process and when the work is completed
• Maintaining the preservation of all units or parts during the work process, installation, and storage.

Plans, organizes, directs and reports on all supplier quality-related activities in cooperation with the supply chain organization.  Works with Suppliers focusing on the major structures of the aircraft such as the fuselage, wings, and empennage. Participates in the cross functional commodity management team.  Communicates engineering, manufacturing and quality requirements to the assigned suppliers. Assures that customer quality-imposed technical requirements are adhered to by supplier and that a quality system is maintained. Conducts programs designed to improve supplier performance, productivity, and process validation.  Prepares, maintains and reviews procurement quality assurance procedures to assure compliance with FAA and customer requirements.  Reviews and analyzes corrective action reports, non-conforming reports and purchase orders in an effort to reduce and eliminate defects. Monitors quality control activities and systems at supplier and subcontractor facilities, and maintains feedback loops.

• Work cross functionally with EAI engineering, supply chain, quality organizations to ensure that the supplier understands and can comply with the technical, capacity, quality  and FAA imposed requirements
• Review and direct the supplier’s manufacturing, engineering and quality teams to ensure the supplier’s product conforms to all of the requirements
• Analyze suppliers manufacturing processes (routers, work orders, work instructions, etc.) and supplier process controls to ensure compliance to the design data and FAA regulatory requirements
• Participate with the supply chain organization in selecting and qualifying suppliers  including on-going evaluation and disapproval of suppliers
• Direct the supplier in continuing performance improvement programs
• Perform and/or participate in Supplier certification, business and product audits consistent with  AS9100 requirements
• Work with the supplier to ensure conformity  and  to issue a Statement of Conformity (FAA Form 8130-9),  by the qualified supplier representative on behalf of EAI , sufficient to submit and conformed product and documentation package to the FAA or its designee for Airworthiness  Approval Tag (FAA Form 8130-3)
• Resolve technical, manufacturing, quality issues with the supplier and coordinate such with the appropriate EAI organizations
• Participate with the supplier in design for manufacturing reviews and represent supplier’s input within EAI to ensure optimal design for manufacturing solutions
• Perform Run at Rate, capacity analysis
• Perform First Article Inspection and ongoing product inspections
• Participate with Supply Chain in supplier contract review and contract administration for those areas regarding supplier quality
• Resolve supplier quality issues, working cross functionally as required
• US and International travel to supplier and sub-tier supplier locations as required
• Assist with the qualification and approval of new suppliers and maintain a list of approved suppliers
• Assist and coordinate with the FAA  in conducting FAA surveillance of the supplier control system at supplier facilities selected by the FAA in accordance with FAA Order 8120.2

• Experience using statistical inspection and auditing methods.
• The incumbent will be responsible for helping to develop the Supplier Quality Assurance program and to make sure the best suppliers are in place to drive the best quality products and practices. Strong communication skills, both written and oral at all levels of both the supplier and Eclipse organizations
• Ability to provide direction and leadership to the supplier regarding quality systems, adherence to design data requirements, FAA regulations, manufacturing processes and controls and continuous improvement
• Knowledgeable in FAR part 21.33, and FAA Order 8110.4, 8120.2, 8100.7, 8110.11 requirements

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Manager, Quality Assurance will be accountable for a variety of matters ranging from strategic planning to operational execution.  The incumbent will perform a key role in the development of an efficient and effective system for ensuring the quality of airplane service/manufacturing activities consistent with AS9100.

• Manage a new Eclipse Aerospace Quality Organization including hiring qualified Associates necessary to support future production, service and delivery of aircraft.
• Assist with the development, updating, and control of the Quality Management System.
• Responsible for the proper communication of the Quality Management System changes, including but not limited to training personnel on new or revised requirements or systems.
• Develop systems, processes and procedures to measure and report performance against established standards.
• Determine, develop and implement necessary communication strategy(ies) for the improvement and awareness of quality issues across the corporation.

GENERAL SUMMARY

Document stress analysis in informal report system for each drawing
